GLoCon Film Launch and Photo Exhibition

Affirm Associates in conjunction with the Salvation Army, ECHO International Health Services and Global Connections are presenting an exciting new training video - GLoCon.

GLoCon means 'global and local community conversation' and the video explores how communities learn and can learn from each other. Four communities will be celebrated, one in each of Zambia, USA, China, and India. Critical foundations of integral mission are explored such as:

  • Why and how is neighbourhood a core foundation for care and change?
  • How can health and faith systems adapt to support local community strength for response?
  • How is personal faith a determinant of sustainable change?

The Salvation Army International Headquarters and Global Connections are jointly hosting the launch. The international leader of The Salvation Army, General André Cox, will attend. Martin Lee, a trustee of ECHO International Health Services and formerly Director of Global Connections, will facilitate the event.

The event is being held in Café 101 on the lower ground floor of The Salvation Army International Headquarters, 101 Queen Victoria St, London, EC4V 4VH. It is close to the Millennium Bridge and the closest tube stations are Blackfriars, St Pauls and London Canon Street.

Please be there by 10.20am for a 10.30am start. The film will be introduced and viewed, followed by a discussion time.  At 11.30 am we will move to a photo exhibition, prior to sharing a light lunch, concluding by 12.30pm.

Please let us know by July 15th if you can participate. RSVP to Deborah Condon
