Despite the growth and development of the member care field, there continue to be gaps in the services provided to mission partners, areas we have still not properly understood, but also new practice that we could learn from. It is vital that we give time to find out about some of the latest research in member care, so that we can learn lessons, and respond appropriately.
This event will give you the opportunity to do just that!
Ally Gibson, Duncan Watts and Wania Honman - three recent Member Care MA postgraduates from Redcliffe College - will each be sharing a brief summary of their dissertation research and some practical applications of how this has affected their member care practice. The areas they will be covering are:
- Missionary resilience – the buzz word of the moment, but what does it really mean and how can we evaluate it?
- Is there anything sending organisations could do for missionary couples in cross-cultural marriages?
- How listening to members' perceptions of member care has affected member care practice in one mission agency.
There will also be the opportunity to ask questions, and to chat with them informally to find out more about their subjects. We will be starting the event with lunch – delicious food over which we can network and relax before getting down to business!
We do hope you can join us for this unique and exciting opportunity.
The event, which will be held in Birmingham, starts at 12 noon and finishes at 4.00pm.
The cost is £15 to people from GC member agencies and churches. Cost for non GC members is £45. Refreshments and lunch are included in the price. Please complete the form below to book your place.
