Most of our organisations currently debrief parents and children separately. However there is a growing recognition that there are many benefits to also debriefing the whole family together, but this is not actually happening widely in UK.
This day event, brought to you by the TCK and Member Care Forums, aims to sharpen our Family Debriefing skills and explore whether those who are passionate about this could partner together to trial an interagency Family Debriefing weekend in the UK, following the model Christian Quartier has developed in Switzerland.
Delegates will work together to consider the vision, purpose, content and structure for a Family Debriefing weekend run by a team for a few families. Skills and learning could also be applied for Family Debriefing of just one family.
The day’s interactive training will include large and small group work and will incorporate some case studies. We will also consider practical issues such as contracting, guidelines, working in teams, and supervision. The day will conclude with prayer that Family Debriefing will expand in the UK for the blessing of mission families.
PLEASE NOTE that this training is only open to those who have:
- Attended the Family Debriefing seminar at the Euro TCK Conference Germany 2017 or 2019 (led by Christian)
- Attended the TCK and Member Care Forum Family Debriefing training day, Derby Oct 2018 (led by Christian)
- Family Debriefing training with another organisation
- Other experience in Family Debriefing
Some pre-reading will be expected.
