The forum is for churches and agencies involved in coordinating short-term mission programmes whether they are for a few weeks or a gap year. The overall aim is to help each other become the best that we can be through network resourcing, information sharing, community building and improving practice. We meet annually in the autumn for an overnight residential event.
The network is committed to promoting good practice by encouraging members and others to use the Code of Best Practice in Short Term Mission.
Issue covered recently include: Best practice in short term mission; Package Travel Regulations and ATOL, Churches and agencies working in partnership; How short term trips can be empowering rather than disempowering to local communities; Recruitment and team dynamic; Trends in short-term mission from security issues to marketing and everything in between!
