Called to....Stay and Send at Belfast Bible College
Are you from a church that is currently sending missionaries to serve God overseas? Does your church want to think about how to raise up missionaries and send them out in the future? This course will look at the vital role of the local church – and especially its leadership - in the setting apart, sending out and support of church members for medium to long-term mission overseas. This practical course will draw on biblical models and experiences from life in congregational leadership and service overseas.
This is a 3 week course running every Tuesday night from 26th November 2019 – 10th December, 7.00pm to 9.15pm. The cost is £40
The Friendship First Course is an interactive, non-specialist course that equips Christians with vision, confidence, skills and resources to make friends with Muslim people and to share their greatest gift of love which is Jesus Christ himself. This is not just a job for ‘specialists’, but for the whole church.
This six session course is for believing Christians from all walks of life. It aims to give them:
- A positive attitude towards their Muslim neighbours in Britain
- Relevant Knowledge about Islam and Muslim Cultures
- Sufficient skills to make a start in personal friendship and witness
It can be used in home groups in local churches, Christian Unions in universities, or larger seminar settings.
Discover is a discussion-based course that aims to help people explore the ‘what’ and ‘why’ of mission from a biblical perspective. It’s designed for home group settings or for a special study series – it’s often used during Lent or Advent. It’s an ideal resource for churches seeking fresh approaches to teaching and discipleship.
The Discover programme is made up of seven sessions, with each session focusing on a particular part of the biblical story of mission. The sessions dip into the stories of Adam, Eve, Abraham, Moses and Isaiah before spending time focusing on the life, ministry and death of Jesus.The resource pack comprises specially produced material that is contemporary, innovative and challenging.
The Unfinished Story provides an exciting overview of the mission of God from Genesis, through the gospels and more than two thousand years of the world Christian movement to our world today.
This course is designed to inspire, educate and challenge God’s people in our time, to engage with God in what is arguably the generation that offers the potential for the greatest harvest ever! The Unfinished story will help form a Biblical worldview that sees our participation with God in mission as both an exciting adventure and, even more importantly, what it means to be a true follower of Jesus!
This course is designed to be conducted in a small group setting within a local church as a standard part of a local church’s discipleship program. The recommended format is one night a week for four weeks. Each session goes for about one hour and 45 minutes.
The course is geared to help give you key concepts to consider by unpacking commonly asked questions about Jesus and Christian faith from an Asian perspective. It is about creating room for you to weigh things up, look a bit deeper and think on how you see the belief in Jesus and the Christian faith.
The course takes place over 8 weeks in a very relaxed and friendly setting

A DTS is six months of personally experiencing God and living the adventure of taking His message to the nations. It's an intense, full-time program consisting of two parts - lecture phase and outreach phase.
The main qualification for studying in a DTS is that you have a relationship with God, want to grow in Him and want to help other people get to know Him. The other qualification is that you are at least 18 years old and/or have completed High School.
The Forge Pioneer Course is a leadership training and mentoring programme for those who sense that God might be leading them into creating new expressions of church. Through a combination of teaching weekends, practical placements, mentoring and assignments, the course is intended to prepare people to launch into what God is calling them to do.
The purpose of the pioeering course is to validate the pioneering spirit, creating a beachhead for making Kingdom ground and championing a voice for change in church as we know it.
The pioneer course explores the questions raised by church, culture & Kingdom as well as fostering relationships between like-minded, Kingdom-seeking trail-blazers and connects them with others on the same journey.
One of the significant challenges we face on a day-to-day basis is working with others, often from different cultures and with different personalities.
SYIS is designed to provide Christian workers and Christ followers everywhere with the essential biblical knowledge, attitudes and skills for relating well with co-workers, family members, friends and those from other cultures.
This training can be delivered either:
- Through a week long on-site workshop
- Through a more flexible weekend encounter tailored to meet the specific needs of a congregation
