Boarding school needs in Indonesia: In our boarding school for village children, all had to stay because of Covid. For staff it means more 24/7 work with 94 children. Our children love the movie “God’s not dead.” A key repeated statement is: “God is good all the time and all the time God is good”. Our hope and prayer is that we will continue to rely on that reality. Pray with us for these and all children facing trials around the globe. Education can change the futures of these children, and access to Scripture can transform lives.
Outreach to the Bonai people: Please pray for the Bonai people of Indonesia. One of the WO teams has made an exploratory prayer trip to visit this group. Pray for workers who feel a distinct call from the Lord to reach them. Pray that the Lord would open the hearts of the Bonai to receive the gospel. Pray for creative ideas for our team planning to reach them. Pray that, in years to come, there would be a thriving church planting movement among the Bonai.
Increase of faith in India: Our workers in some areas of India are reporting that during the pandemic crisis there has been an upsurge of interest in the Christian faith. As a result of this there has been a five-fold increase in the house church movement, particularly in remote rural areas. The resulting challenge is to provide written material and training in local languages. Please pray for the resources needed and that the local workers will be able to 'catch the wave' of God's Spirit in this challenging and exciting time.
Tibet - Points of Connection: With our focus on reaching the Unreached Peoples Group our workers are very dependent on God to show us the way in which to connect and build relationships with the differing people groups. Please pray for Gospel Workers learning about Tibetan Buddhism to be able to find points of connection from which they can share the Gospel.
Algeria, Burkina Faso
Persecuted for faith: No one, nor any situation, can stop the advancement of the kingdom of God. Despite the persecution faced from terrorist attacks in Burkina Faso and the condemnations in Algeria, many people are turning to our Lord Jesus Christ and being baptised. And when the light comes, the darkness has to leave. Therefore, beloved, do not be afraid or discouraged. The Lord our God is with us and not one of his sheep will be lost. Pray for those persecuted for their Christian faith.
Bangladeshi converts face hardship for Jesus: When Bangladeshis begin following Jesus, they know their lives will be a struggle. Pray for the converts who face the threat of divorce or loss of custody of their children if their faith is discovered. Some believers are expelled from their villages while others have seen their homes and churches burned down. Pray that they will have joy and perseverance in these times. Pray that God will continue to be the light through the body of the church and that God's love and peace will fill and unite the body of Christ that they will be filled with a passion to share the Good News with the lost.
