NSWLearning (formally NorthStarWorldwide)
Working with families and small schools around the world changing the way that formal learning takes place
Launched in September 1999, NorthStarUK was the first fully online learning community providing secondary education in the UK. We changed our name to NSWLearning in April 2018, in order to emphasis the central place of 'learning' in all that we do as an organisation.
NSWLearning aims to be a resource to parents who wish to home educate their children and to schools wishing to move into secondary education or needing to enhance or supplement their secondary programme with the provision of additional subjects.
Elective home education is a right that families in the UK have enjoyed for many years. NSWLearning exists to support families who want to home educate their children through the upper primary and secondary years of education. Providing online secondary education in key subjects, we help home educating parents to provide formal education, otherwise than at school. Whether families are looking for home 'school' or informal home-based learning NSWLearning is here to help parents make informed choices about the education of their children.
NSWLearning also works with a number of schools around the world, providing curriculum enhancement or support, including supplementing a school’s existing IGCSE or A level programme and assisting small primary schools move into secondary education.
Our Educational Director, Steve Richards, has spoken widely in the areas of online learning, implementation of new technology in a school context, and the need to develop new learning paradigms for Christian education. If you are planning a conference and wish to reflect on any of these areas, do feel free to contact us.
