Torch Trust aims to overcome sight loss as a barrier to finding a personal faith in Christ and to living a fulfilled Christian life. Worldwide there are around 160 million blind and partially sighted people.
Torch provides Christian literature and fellowship. Making the Bible, hymn/song books, newsletters, daily Bible readings, Christian books, booklets and magazines available in braille, audio and giant print media is a major part of Torch’s mission.
But there’s much more. Torch runs a network of 125 Fellowship Groups across the UK and about 20 holidays a year especially for people with sight loss, many at their own Holiday & Retreat Centre in Sussex and others at selected venues across the UK.
Torch is also international. Its Christian magazines go to readers in 100 countries. In Malawi, Torch produces braille Bibles in a growing number of African languages and supports a network of 80 Fellowship Groups.
