Pray for Jill McGilvray as she chairs the Langham International Council. Pray for guidance and strength as important decisions are made.

In October, LPUKI has a stand (with Langham Literature) at the Christian Resources Exhibition in Surrey. Please pray that many will stop at the stand and that more people will start supporting Langham.

Recently, a contextual commentary on the book of John, by Johnson Thomaskutty, was published as part of Langham’s Asia Bible Commentary series. Please pray that many believers across Asia will benefit from this commentary and the wider series.

Give thanks to God for the team of 11 Scholar Care Coordinators around the world, providing vital pastoral care for many Scholars. Pray today for Rico Villanueva, in the Philippines, as he looks after Scholars who are studying in Asia.

Advisory Groups: Our Langham heritage in biblical preaching can struggle to engage three different groups of preachers: (a) ‘oral preference learners’; (b) women; and (c) youth. To help progress our work into these groups, we’ve set up three Advisory Groups that then speak into the direction of this ministry. Please pray for the convenors—Jocabed Solano & Aristide Takore (Orality), Sharon McClaughlin Wilmshurst (Women); and Esteban Améstegui (Youth)—with this final one just beginning to take shape.

Africa: From Thursday until Monday (2-6 Oct), the Africa Leadership Team has its annual in-person meeting in Turkey. The ever-increasing challenges associated with gaining visas led them, on this occasion, to try a location outside the continent. Team members are gathering from Ghana, Togo, Nigeria, DR Congo, South Sudan, Kenya, Lesotho and South Africa—with Femi Adeleye and Emeka Egbo facilitating the meeting. We are asked to pray ‘for a fruitful time of reflection, review, planning, and prayer, especially as we welcome the two new regional coordinators.’

Please pray for our partners Emmanuel Ministries, in Kolkata, India, and the children they support. Please pray for: the Emmanuel Ministries team, as a Christian organisation in a hostile political environment the children of the Pavement Club, especially those struggling with very dysfunctional family lives, or chronic illness or disability the children of Calcutta Emmanuel School, giving thanks for the amazing opportunities the school offers children in extreme poverty connections with new children through the outreach team.

Please pray for our partners in Bangladesh, Love Your Neighbour, and the children they support. Give thanks for Washington, director of LYN, and the rest of the Bose family, for their years of commitment to this work. Pray for positive outcomes for: the boys at the Home of Love the children in the community sponsorship programme the children attending Learning Booster Centres the young mentors supporting the children’s learning struggling rural families.

Join us in prayer for our work with girls, remembering the International Day of the Girl (11th October). Pray for: encouragement and positive change for 350+ girls attending Girls Clubs at four primary schools in Rukungiri, Uganda our partners in Malawi and Guatemala and their work mentoring girls protection and opportunities for extremely vulnerable Dalit girls at our projects in India a bright future for sponsored girls at our projects worldwide.

Pray with us for our work in Uganda, for safety, energy and good health for Global Care staff and volunteers as they visit Uganda. Pray for a positive meeting for the Uganda National Board and a positive staff conference with the Ugandan staff team. Pray for journey mercies and safe travel to Soroti and back (9 - 12 October ) and successful meetings and visit. Pray for encouragement for sponsored children across all three centres.

'Please pray for the United Kingdom and for the wide-open doors for a work for Al Massira. From London to Cardiff, Wolverhampton to Glasgow, Belfast to Nottingham, Devon to Bristol, AM has been given opportunities to share the ‘Al Massira Experience’ online trainings, as well as Al Massira/The Journey being used by the Church amongst seeking friends. The harvest is plentiful! Please pray for labourers to serve with us in AM, thanking our LORD for faithful UK-based lead trainers, trainers and for the international AM office based in South Wales. May the LORD graciously add to the UK AM team/family.
