Healthcare in DR Congo

In remote areas of DR Congo, patients have to embark on long journeys to reach a hospital. Aside from the physical inaccessibility, financial constraints and insecurity are common barriers that prevent people from conflict-affected communities from accessing healthcare. Please also pray for pregnant mothers to be able to reach hospitals safely, to give birth to healthy children. Pray that Medair can support hospitals and health centres by providing life-saving training and medicine. Pray that Medair will be able to reach remote communities to provide primary healthcare services and vaccinations against diseases such as Ebola, Covid-19 and cholera.

Water shortage in Madagascar

Please pray for continued rainfall in Madagascar. The city has been running out of water, wells and rice fields are parched. The electricity and water supplies are less than half the city’s requirement. Pray for rain to replenish supplies.

Bible translation delays in the Central African Republic

After a wave of violence across the Central African Republic, local Bible translators can’t carry out a planned campaign to improve literacy skills in their minority languages. Travel to their language area is dangerous or impossible, and IT links aren’t sufficient to work effectively from outside. The road to Cameroon, which the first copies of the New Testament in three languages will arrive, is very unsafe due to armed attacks on freight lorries. Pray for safe arrival, but also for sufficient food and supplies for the capital.

COVID-19 spread in Malawi

Your prayers are urgently needed for the Covid-19 situation in Malawi which is growing worse due to the South African variant. There is no vaccine roll out in place and many of the Malawian people are fearful of being vaccinated. Pray that the people will be given the truth about the vaccine and the importance of having it. The current figures are 20,830 cases, 7,005 recovered, 540 deaths.

Radio outreach in Malawi

Our partner radio ministry in Malawi is serving the Yao people of that region, and following recent government research, it was discovered that the station had more listeners than the other two stations in their district combined. They now have all the permissions necessary to proceed with setting up a new broadcasting site that will double the number of people that their signal reaches. Pray as we begin to get the equipment ready for installation. One of the listener groups would like to start a Bible study in their village so pray for great impact from this group, and that many more will hear the gospel as the station is heard over a much bigger area.
