The World Horizons France team consists of families and individuals, French nationals and ex-pats from across the world. They live in the north, south, east and west of France, and work alongside French churches and local associations. Their work includes reaching out to students, running Alpha courses, teaching English, children’s and youth work, prayer initiatives and other activities in the local community.
Our team near Biarritz is focused on supporting the local church through children’s and youth ministries, as well as building relationships with local people through events, hospitality and dance classes. They are also sharing their faith with the international surfing community; many from this background who had turned their back on God are beginning to return to faith. In Marseille, our small team works with local churches and associations to reach out to the French and immigrant communities through English teaching and other activities.
World Horizons France works in association with a team serving at the Château Blanc, near Lille, initiating and hosting interdenominational prayer gatherings for the region and country. They also partner with a couple who have recently bought a small Château in the same village for community and church use.
Other members of the France team minister to local and national authorities, through prayer and support. Many team members also have some form of employment as a way of both supporting themselves financially and sharing their faith, through building relationships with local people.
The France team is eager to see an effective witness amongst the large immigrant communities and has spearheaded the French translation of an international discipleship resource designed for sharing faith with those from a Muslim background and has trained many people as leaders for this course.
