Christians Together in Mission
Following an exhaustive local community survey we have developed over the years a Community Café in Burghfield Common based in the Methodist Church Hall (Café B) which is open Monday morning and lunchtime and Wednesday morning, serving coffee, tea and snacks, which has a weekly footfall of about 50 clients. The village does not have another suitable meeting point
The second service is a Befriending Service with approximately 50 clients who are isolated and lonely matched to volunteer visitors who see or are in contact with their clients at least weekly.
Then we have a team of School Pastors who patrol our local Secondary School at lunchtimes twice a week (Partnering Ascension Trust).
Each service has a part-time coordinator and a team of volunters from the locality.
The charity has a strong Christian Ethos, and is run by a team of voluntary Trustees. We seek to be a Christian presence, and are not explicitly evangelistic.
