Edinburgh City Mission
Edinburgh City Mission was founded in 1832 by David Nasmith.
For 185 years, Ediburgh City Mission has been directly involved in evangelistic outreach and continues to aim to be a catalyst for individuals and churches to engage in mission, showing the love of God through sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, introducing people to a personal saviour, and making disciples.
Our flagship project is Basics Bank, a network of eight food banks spread throughout Edinburgh and the Lothian region. Through Basics Bank we minister to the physical and emotional needs of our clients and, in wisom share with them the Hope Christ has to offer. Our missionaries make connections with clients who express a desire to so so and provide one-to-one support
We are also a partner in the Care Van, a nightly route through the city which provides hot food and drinks to those sleeping rough.
