Hope4Havering is a Christian response to the problems of homelessness and addiction in the London Borough of Havering.

Hope4Havering aims to assist the homeless in Havering by providing:

1. The Catalyst Nightshelter all year in church halls for up to 30 guests and key working them to find accommodation.

2. Thrive Community Housing to 7 licensees to provide them additional support for 2 years in our own leased properties.

3. A Transformation programme for 6 men who have alcohol and drug difficulties to live in a community house on a structured programme for 18 months to reintegrate them back into society.

Hope4Havering targets homelessness by receiving referrals for the Night Shelter from over 60 different local and national referral agencies including: London Street Rescue; St Mungo’s; Prisons; Probation; Drug and alcohol services; Probation; the police; general and mental health hospitals; Havering council, the Citizens Advice Bureau; Street Pastors: the YMCA and Salvation Army.

We also work with the Havering Homeless Task Force to identify and strategise with other agencies to prevent long term rough sleeping. In all the Catalyst Night Shelter has provided 20,000 beds over the past 5 years. We expect to key work 48 different individuals a month to help them access benefits, receive appropriate health care, source ID and ultimately link to a landlord and be rehoused.
