NOTDEC UK supports a centre for orphaned or destitute children in Western Uganda. The oragnisation has been caring for needy children for 15 years. The children range in age from babies a few days old to students at University or undergoing vocational training. Many of the children have been returned to their wider families but are still supported with educational needs.
NOTDEC Uganda owns a 30 acre site with comprising seven mother home bungalows, staff accomodation, nursery school classrooms, a Chapel / multipurpose hall and an administration building. 20 acres of the land is farmed.
NOTDEC Uganda was started by a Christian Ugandan lady who began to look after orphaned and abandoned children in her own home. NOTDEC UK was formed to support this work in Uganda by providing funds and expertise help. NOTDEC Uganda has now expanded to help nearly 150 children and has 35 full time staff. They are appointing a new post of director to manage the centre and request someone from the UK who has managerial experience to work alongside the new director giving support and advice
