Peace and Hope Trust
This mission was borne out of a long term vision of Squadron Leader Michael Cole, OBE, to reach those who were not served by others. In 1995, Mike led a team of British volunteers across Nicaragua in a hovercraft, over the rapids of the Rio San Juan, seeking to discover a permanent solution to a communication problem which has challenged Nicaragua for centuries. This was the catalyst for the growth of the Peace and Hope Trust.
Since then, many volunteers have caught the same vision to help a country that is regularly affected by natural disasters, hurricanes, earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, floods and landslides, and remains one of the neediest in the world.
