Ringsfield EcoActivity Centre
Started in 1972, over the last sixteen years the Centre has developed from ‘hostel’ to a well known and significant venue for high quality outdoor and ecological education for all ages under the guidance of the current Director, Dr Ross Ashley and the Rev Dr Chris Walton, Chair of Trustees. The often bespoke programmes aim to develop ecological literacy and address the modern day loss of connection with nature; programmes include issues of justice and peace as well as social, emotional and spiritual learning.
The Trust considers campaigning on behalf of childhood to be a fundamental part of its remit and it belongs to The National Children’s Bureau, is a founder member of the Early Childhood Movement, holds the LOtC Quality Badge award and is a NDC Play Champion. It also has links to Green Christian 2 and Earth Education UK, the International Association for Children’s Spirituality and The Quiet Garden Trust. Recently, the Trust has begun to forge links with Forest Church.
