Schools' Christian Worker Project

Type: Support service
The Schools' Christian Worker Project seeks, with the support of local Christian churches, to communicate the Christian faith and lifestyle in local schools and to provide appropriate resources for pupils and staff. The primary focus of the Project is the three local state secondary schools, but work in primary schools and colleges is not unusual.

The Project was established in September 1998 under the umbrella of Churches Together in Oswestry District and in association with Churches Together in Ellesmere and Scripture Union.  The Board of Trustees are drawn from a wide spectrum of local churches.  The first Schools' Worker was appointed in January 2002.  Funding for the Project comes primarily from donations from churches and local Christians, together with fund raising activites and occasional grants from trusts.
