The Grove Community
The Grove Community is a church plant that launched in September 2016 and has become a valuable resource offering church gatherings and community activities on Gurnell Grove council estate. Our vision is to be a healthy, growing church community in the heart of the Gurnell Grove estate through which hundreds of local people become disciples of Jesus. We have established a house church, an after school club, an older peoples club, a monthly pop up event, bingo church, a community fun week, a social action week and church services at Christmas and Easter. We also run a weekly house church so that local residents have a place they can explore faith, discipleship and engage with God.
Gurnell Grove is situated in West London, Ealing and has approximately 1700 residents. It falls in the top 10% in the deprivation scale in the UK. It falls far below the national average in the areas of income, health, employment and barriers to social services. It contains a diverse community with a mixture of ethnic groups and religions including Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism & Christian. We work closely with our local parish church St Stephen’s Ealing and St Paul’s Ealing have also partnered with us in this adventure. We have also received a ‘Bishops Missional Order’ from the London Diocese and have partnered with the Eden Network, becoming part of their network as ‘Eden Gurnell Grove.’
