The King's Church, Epsom
Ethos of the Church
The King’s Church, Epsom (KCE) is an Independent, Evangelical and Free Church with strong roots in Prayer and the Ministry of the Word of God, dating back to its early roots in the 1930s. We believe that the Bible is God-breathed, it is the changeless and inerrant Word of God. We believe in salvation through Jesus Christ, who is the Son of God, and we believe in the person and power of the Holy Spirit.
The church is a UK registered charity. We are part of Commission, a network of churches with a heart to see the fulfilment of Christ’s great commission for the church to take the gospel around the world. We also subscribe to the Articles of Faith as published by the Evangelical Alliance.
We are a community-based family church. Our congregation is very multi-ethnic and diverse, comprising every age group and varied backgrounds. We welcome everyone to join us, irrespective of their situation, background, or circumstances in life. Our passion is to see the love of God transform lives both in our immediate community, and in other places where we are actively involved, nationally and internationally. We are also actively involved with local schools through a number of initiatives.

Current spiritual state
KCE is a very lively and Spirit-filled church, there is a genuine hunger in the congregation to outwork the Word of God. The leadership encourages and constantly seek to release people to discover and walk in their calling in Christ. Our times of worship are lively and usually varied, according to the leading of the Holy Spirit; the teachings and preachings are bible based and we always expect and look forward to an experience of the presence and power of the Holy Spirit at our meetings.
CHILDREN & YOUNG PEOPLE MINISTRY (CYM)
Our Children and Youth Ministry (CYM) is vibrant and constantly growing, with a rich blend of children from varied ethnic backgrounds. The young people enjoy a good diet of Bible teachings and social interactions, with a view to helping them develop and enjoy the reality of a rich relationship with Christ. We run various internal and external CYM activities each week, through a small but committed volunteer force from within the church.
Whilst always acknowledging that Christ is the head of His Church, The King’s Church, Epsom follows a team leadership structure with the Elders leading the church, assisted by ministry teams with specific gifting/callings and supported by a small team of full time staff. The Eldership team is headed by Segun Oladokun who is our full time minister.
Vision and Challenges
We have a clear 5-year vision which include to double the size of our worshipping congregation and to have a fully functional Children's and Youth ministry across all age groups. We remain a very vibrant church with many established activities both within the church and in the community. Currently, some of our key initiatives include a monthly outreach Taste and See free cake stall at the Epsom town centre, Discipleship, Alpha Course, Freedom in Christ, etc.
The church enjoys a regular flow of newcomers and seekers, and there is a need to properly disciple and integrate these people into the church through relevant teaching, follow up and mentoring programs. The need for Pastoral support, discipleship, practical encouragement and co-labourers within the church, continues to grow and evolve with changing demographics and our own spiritual journey.
